Denjetics I:

Posted on June 20, 2019June 24, 2019 by admin

[Transcription of house canto, archived during the reconstruction of Mence. Translated from the original High Denjetic. Recognized in the Polycanon. Usage permitted by sanctioned precommunicants, Etatetic derivations reported.]

You, dweller in the palanquin

Your following is devout

We study the enemy: impatient extraction

And invest in your secretive ways

Of bond, and spawn, and Denj, Denj

And caste, and lord, and Denj, Denj

Of song, and plot, and Denj, Denj

And code, and blade, and Denj, Denj

We embrace the schemes of our spouses

Knowing they betray us only because they love you

And terrify our children, so they may murder well

We knight our footmen with the purple flag

Knowing only the honor of a flaming heart

And promoting the means of strong faces

We uphold the stories of our houses

Knowing a knife for every rib, and a poem for every knife

And the scars which beckon the ancestral smile

We man the walls, looking both ways

Knowing we are bound for pain and victory

And our jeweled skulls will be in our daughters’ homes

We conspire within orthodoxy

Knowing improper practice does not confer power

And bow to those who better know your ways

Of masque, and dance, and Denj, Denj

And crypt, and womb, and Denj, Denj

Of blood, and seed, and Denj, Denj

And duel, and war, and Denj, Denj

You, dweller in the palanquin

Choreographer of civilization

This one beautiful dance

Towards strong death
